Daily Absence

Calling in your child’s daily absences is very, very important. The office phone number is 510-818-3500. This number has voice mail so a message can be left at any time day or night. Absences should be called in each day as soon as possible but no later than 9:45 a.m. When doing so, please leave the following information:

Please keep your child home if they have gotten sick or have a fever. They need to be fever, vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours before coming back to school.

· Please say your child’s name clearly.

· Teachers name and room #

· Reason for absence i.e.: illness or doctor’s appointment, out of town. An out of town absence is an unexcused absence.

· Please leave a call back number.

· Please remember you have 72 hrs to clear an absence before it goes to an unexcused absence.

It is a parent’s responsibility to do this with each absence. The office will make phone calls each day to clear absences but it is most helpful if parent’s helped us by calling first! We appreciate your help in calling the office..

When calling in for homework request, we do our best to get the message to the teacher as soon as possible, however sometimes they don’t always get the message or aren’t able to get the homework ready within than that day. They do their best to get it ready as soon as they can. Thank you for understanding.

When students are leaving early for the day for an appointment, if you know ahead of time, please advise the teacher and they can get the homework ready for the student. If not advised, the student will have to come after school to get their homework or wait until the following day. This will help not take a way from class time.
